Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.
Good morning Bric ,
we have endless sleepless sleeps since being diagnosed in March . Even with OH consultation on Thursday saying the Aberaterone & Prostap is working well as his PSA is fluctuating between undetectable & 0.1 , We are now onto 3 monthly consultations.
how we cope OH walks 10 miles a day albeit not currently due to a calf injury. He crashed last week and it was a combination of the leg injury , Hormone therapy and radiotherapy . The consultant explained that even without the leg injury he would be very fatigued whilst the RT continued to work .
He spends a lot of time in his “man cave” hut and just sticks the radio in and potters.
We try to get away for a 2 nite hotel break which makes life a bit more “normal” .
He was due to start a free 12 week course at our local council run gym to build up his upper body but it’s on hold until his leg is better.
We also go to our local Maggie Centre and find it very therapeutic as there is no judgement , they just listen and where they can signpost you to get answers .
Our GP offered us both something to help us to sleep but we declined. I must admit our GP is great and is fully supporting both of us.
Hope you can find a way to relax & destress as sometimes that’s worse than the physical illness .
Best wishes to you and your wife
Liz & OH xx
