    Stay Safe Joe

  • My cancer has gone to lymph node’s very close to the prostrate told treatable but not curable and get on with life buy oncologist psa was40 but now at 3.5  hope so

  • Yp very frustrated side effects not great it’s a mind game to seem tired always slows you down

  • Yep. I’m 68 too. I’m also having side effects. Hot flushes and periods of exhaustion. It could very well be a panic attack. I mean, for heavens sake, the news you’ve just had was hardly cheery. Stick with this group, there’s lot of knowledge and experience on here. Don’t forget that you can also pop into the local MacMillan centre for a face-to-face chat, if there is one at your local hospital.  Also, check out and use the support resources because you don’t have to go through this alone.

    cheers

  • Hello

I am Brian one of the Community Champions here - I also have Prostate Cancer. Your GP should be able to sort out your blood pressure for you. As for

    anxiety attacks

Here's a few ideas for you:-

    * Contact Anxiety UK for some support on 0344 477 5774 or www.anxietyuk.org.uk.

    * Do you have a local "Maggie's" near you - these are a cancer support group offering face to face help - here's a link to find a local branch - https://www.maggies.org/

    * At Macmillan we offer free Counselling provided by BUPA - again here's a link -Macmillan Free BUPA Counselling.

    * Would having a Macmillan Buddy chat to you once a week to talk about your cancer and anything else on your mind - again here's a link: Macmillan Buddies Scheme.

    * There's always our Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) They are amazing people who can offer you plenty of help and support.

That's just a few ideas - I do have some more. I hope the above helps - if I can do anything else for you just drop me a line.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thanks for your help appreciated think it was the devil who came down the chimney with my present it certainly makes you look at your life and how fast it goes working hard for your family who love just like others on here,it spares no one and that goes for everyone who has cancer wish they would find a cure for the disease for everyone out there having a bad time. It’s really nice to have the support of others, never spoke like this before positive thoughts are hard to come bye at the moment just trying to dig in and hope things get better eventually

  • it certainly makes you look at your life

You are so right - If you read my profile (click on my user name or avatar) I almost lost mine on day one of my journey!!

Stick with us - we are one big family, the thing here is we are able to express our feelings here whereas some times you just don't want to bother your family.

The start of your journey is the hard part but if you can find that positive attitude and take one day at a time - you are getting there.

We have "treatable but not curable" here who have been going for 10 years or more!!

If I can do anything for you - just drop me a message.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi  , sorry you have joined our club.  It is a very scary time at the beginning.  I was PSA 74 and also spread to lymphs on diagnosis.  That was over 7 years ago and I’m still here.  It is difficult to remain positive but it definitely will help you.  Come back with any questions and Brian’s flock (team) will no doubt help you.  Best wishes, David
