Prostate Cancer and Zoladex

Hello.  My husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in September 2024.  In October he was given a Zoladex implant and since then he has severe body aches and also unbearable pain in his legs.  He has trouble walking and is severely out of breath going up the stairs.  He has tried Tynenol abd Advil taking two tablets each time.  He is also on Bicalutamide.  His doctor will not give him any medication for the pain and suggested he go to our family doctor which we did.  Is there anyone who has similar symptons.  Thank you in advance.   Thunder

  • Hello

Another warm welcome to our little part of the Community where I hope you will feel at home. I am aware of "Zoladex" but am not on it myself however I am sure you will receive plenty of help and advice from our little group. Has your G P not prescribed any pain relief?

To help us help you (and not keep asking the same questions) can you fill in a little bit about your husband's journey on his profile - his TNM and Gleason Score and PSA's. To do this on your home page - click on the icon of the chair - top right - then profile and then edit. Once you have written something remember to save it (you can read my profile by clicking on my name or avatar).

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi  , sorry to hear your OH has joined our club, but you are both very welcome.  I have been on 12 weekly Zoladex for over 7 years and not had much trouble.  I guess he may be having a slight reaction to the drug but if your oncologist dismissed this and isn’t offering an alternative perhaps it isn’t related to the jab.  Are you able to give any background (his age, fitness, weight, Gleason score and staging (TNM).  All that gives us a better picture of likely scenarios.  You can put it all in your profile and likewise see my profile by clicking on my name or the picture next to it (I use my profile as a diary) Hope others will be along once you have told us a little more.  Best wishes, David
