Result of my biopsy

Hi all,

Well I went in expecting the worst but hoping for the best and thankfully Lady Luck is on my side as my Gleason score is 3+3 but they are putting me forward for an enhanced MRI biopsy. I’ve got pc but the lowest grade and it looks like active surveillance is the recommended path. I’ll post an update after the next biopsy. The only fly in the ointment is a raised PSA from 5.7 to 7.2. Thanks again for all the advice and kind words.

Best wishes

Pete

  • Hello Pete (

It will be interesting to see your results after the next biopsy - but it looks at present very encouraging. As you say the only concern is the rising PSA.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Brian,

Thanks for your encouraging reply. There seems to be quite a discrepancy between the MRI and the biopsy and that’s why I’ve been put forward for the the enhanced MRI/biopsy so here’s hoping for the best result.

    Regards

  • Hi Pete

Hope the enhanced biopsy goes well, I also have Gleason 3+3 and have been on A/S for 3 years now

Click on the armchair symbol top left and you will see my profile, my psa readings have fluctuated between 6.9 and 10, latest one this month  is 7.5.
I was told my different psa readings could be down to enlarged prostate, so I wouldn’t worry too much about much if your last reading is slightly up, it’s when you have a sharp increase that’s the worry

All the best to you, Roy
