Hello, I am new to this chat. My name is Sarah and I am looking for so advice for my partner Paul, who has has radiotherapy due to prostate cancer and is now suffering terribly with erectile dysfunction. He as tried the tablets you name it he has tried them with no success. He is now considering the caverject injection but is worried that it will be too painful and that it won't work.
Can anyone please give some feedback as to what to expect and has it worked for you.
Thanks guys
Hi Badger1
Just a quick on - you say Paul has had Radiotherapy, is he on hormone therapy too or has this been completed and when?
Kind Regards
Brian.

Wow - I am sorry to hear it's been so long -I was just clutching at straws to see if it was the effects of the HT treatment - but obviously not!!.
I am on HT now so from a personal point of view there's no life in the old man! After 7 years I wonder if it's worth contacting the GP to arrange to have his testosterone checked to see if it's started to come back.
Sorry i can't be of much help - Good luck with it.
Best wishes
Brian.

Hello Badger1,
7 years is a long time! I can understand the reluctance to try injections and personally would seee this as a last resort.
Has he thought of trying a vacuum pump in conjunction with the tablets? Fear of a something not working for ED usually guarentees it won't work due to the anxiety factor but a pump used with a constriction ring is virtually guaranteed to at least produce and keep an erection - if you haven't tried it I recommend you do.
Try googling them and read up on how they work and how to use them effectively - that is of course unless you've already tried one without success.
I hope you find a solution.
Hi Sarah. I would second trying the use of a vacuum pump. They are available from about £40. I have no idea what they are like at that price though. I was looking at LoveHoney. In the end I got one on prescription from my GP, after it being suggested by a specilaist ED nurse at my hospital. Mine would have cost over £200. I would not have spent that kind of money on spec. I would suggest your partner talks to your GP and enquire whether there is an ED specialist he could see or ask if the GP can prescribe one anyway, without referral. I understand it does depend on your Health Authority. I am so sorry that he has not had no support. Maybe it is time to rattle cages. I would say it is worth seeing an ED specialist as there are varioues other options. Reading your post you say "..and is now...". If this is something which has only recently occurred along his 7 year journey then I would strongly suggest he speaks to his GP. On the question of tablets, I tried a high dose of Tadalfil (amonst other ED tabs) as I have suffered from T2D for some years. They worked fairly well for me but since my op last September I have been on daily low dose Tadalafil of 5 mg. They have not been the answer to my problem but I do feel they are working in the background and are providing some improvement.
