Hey all so far husband has had psa 30.4. Bone scan, MRI, CT scan has confirmed prostate cancer with involvement of seminal vesicles. Thankfully there is no involvement in lymph nodes or any other organs, and bone scan clear. He is getting his biopsy’s tomorrow so we need to wait to see what type of cancer. But have been advised treatment will be radio therapy and hormone therapy.
Anyone have any experience of this type and has been told potentially cureable is there a chance it not cureable.
Hello Skye - your ways of dealing with this illness are exactly the same as mine! Like you, I have to be prepared for the worst! I know this might not be the best way as the ‘what ifs’ might not happen but, in the wee hours when sleep evades me, they creep in and just won’t go away. Logically I know that this is a waste of my energy but emotionally I just cannot stop worrying! I hope you can find some peace in this horrible situation.
take care of yourself !
Hi WW, even though I have a good idea of what the future holds for me, I still get up between 2 and 3 at night and worry about things, I suppose we all have low moment's, a cup of tea, quiet 1/2 hour back to bed, making sure I don't wake my wife, I'll tell her next morning because I know she does the same thing, sometimes together, still we have just got to go with the flow, fortunately we have more good times than bad.
It’s weird - if we wake up in the night and can’t get back to sleep we give in and have breakfast and then usually go back to sleep for another couple of hours!
perhaps we are returning to infancy and 4 hourly feeds?!
Ah that's me - see last post in no specific topic!!

So - parking at Morrisons with a sting in the tale! If you recall, our last radiotherapy session was on a Saturday. Morrisons allows 3 hours parking which is reduced to 90 minutes on match days. Guess who overstayed because we did not realise this?!!! We didn’t even know it was a match day. £100 fine reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days. Have appealed on basis I filled up with petrol which delayed exit but don’t hold out much hope!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
