Hey all so far husband has had psa 30.4. Bone scan, MRI, CT scan has confirmed prostate cancer with involvement of seminal vesicles. Thankfully there is no involvement in lymph nodes or any other organs, and bone scan clear. He is getting his biopsy’s tomorrow so we need to wait to see what type of cancer. But have been advised treatment will be radio therapy and hormone therapy.
Anyone have any experience of this type and has been told potentially cureable is there a chance it not cureable.
Yes, at the end of my Radiotherapy I had the feeling that I had arrived in a wilderness - nothing but PSA tests and hormone injections. At least I can still blame anything on "me Hormones!!" for another 2 years!!

Thank you for sharing your experience it is great advice.
We are still in our bubble as we have not shared with family or friends until we have all the information and full diagnosis and stages etc. so I don’t feel like this is real a bit of in denial I think as I have been emotional but feel I haven’t as much as I should have so feeling guilty but I am not sure if it is to be strong for husbands feelings but until we have to come out and actually discuss it with others and speak out the news I think it will hit us.
As we have been getting filtered information but by bit.
I am behind my husband at whatever obstacles are to hit us with side effects etc. we are a team and will get through it.
hope you are enjoying a well earned rest and you get away soon xx
I know, just messing, as I've said before it's harder for the ladies than us, and you are definitely not a wimp. Lol
Not everyone gets my silly type of humour, I just poke fun at everything especially me
Aww hi sorry for late reply. Yes we seem to be at same stage.
we were told as of now before the biopsy comes back we will be started on hormone therapy for at least two years and 20 sessions of radiotherapy. Treatment plan may change depending on the aggression of the cancer which will be decided once oncology look at results. And they advised treatment plan may change if it doesn’t respond to treatment.
he is currently on tamisulion which does appear to be giving an improvement in urine flow.
apprehensive about the HT. but we can be hormonal buddies together least he won’t be able to moan about my mood swings it’s not a joking matter but we are going to fight this with humour as we do get through life with banter and if you don’t laugh you cry. Which am sure there will be many tears to come happy and sad.
really can’t believe we are embarking on this journey every day just gets a bit more real.
good luck and hugs to you and your husband on this journey. Xx
We spoke to nurse today and he said that as long as he fine after biopsy we can take a break before starting treatment so he has opted to go away for 1 week and by then biopsy’s will be back and we can start treatment but really he said we had a window till about June as he will start radiotherapy then. Xx
Thank you the scans didn’t show any lymph node involvement just the seminal vesicles. But have read how others were diagnosed with that but they had surgery and then it was found in lymph nodes. My husband never got the option of surgery but maybe you don’t with locally advanced.
I suppose it better to hear the intent to cure than it can’t be. But no guarantees with anything.
Thank you for reply
Hi Skye and Robina, my water works didn't improve with HT but it did with RT after my 6th session, the gland shrunk quite well and I was able to P like a big boy again.
It's been about 18 month since RT and I'm still on hormones for just over 2 year's, yes there are side effects but manageable.
I've been stable mable for the last year, visits to oncology have reduced from 4 weekly to 12 weekly.
My wife and I are enjoying our lives, just doing stuff together.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
