So got diagnosis of t3a n0 m1 Gleason 4+5 =9, metastases in pelvis and ?
No curable.....
Oh dear! 1 way ticket! Got plenty things I can do positively with my ticket, but a constant immobilizing question keeps popping up....what next!
Think a group, or some other men with similar diagnosis can help? Google and online stuff is good, but real experience is priceless.
Any one with advice or if groups in Dorset for prostate cancer are open????
Hi ulls.
Thanks for reply.
But more than thank you for posting your info on your profile.
Your profile info really helped guide me.
I went to doctor pissing blood(claret)
Ejeculating like a death crime scene
My prostate throbbed and occasionally felt like it was being poked with knitting needles.
And so so very frightened....
I went to my local GP, young female GP, uninvested, I gave urine....I gave full disclosure.
She said there was no bacteria in urine??? I asked her check my prostate and she said I was to young??? She gave me antibiotics??? It didn't sound right....
10days later, I was only able get telephone appointment? another urine sample no bacteria but give 2 weeks stronger antibiotics (at that point I thought I actually had prostate cancer and wanted an MRI!!!)
I was given a cystotomy, extreemly painful and couldn't be completed....(later to find it was the tumours up there!!!!)
More delays!
All that time I was using Google and common sense and fear to diagnose myself due to getting an inexperienced GP? Was so upsetting and frustrating.
Then I got the bone pain!!! in my right pelvice and thigh!!!! Never pelt pain like it and knew it must've been in my bones!
So with that paranoia and distrust I now need put my faith in the doctors.
So really am glad I found this.
Thank you ulls
Hi
The what now, is how your team progress with your treatment. They should keep you in the loop as how things are progressing. Hormone treatment affects everyone differently, in my case joint pain and fatigue others it could be anger or sad, or something completely different, it’s just getting used to it.
It’s a long road, each step is something new, we just battle past it and get on with life best we can.
Stay safe
Joe
Hi Throxly, I'm pleased that you found my profile useful, looks like your GP was as bad as mine putting you of and just giving tablets, I've often thought if I had a PSA blood check at 6 month would the cancer have been caught early enough to be curable, but it was not to be so no use wondering what might have been.
Any time you wish to chat either open forum like this or private messages, we can help each other out.

Literally try live in each new day only...
Have bit of routine, 1, look at what I have to be grateful for. 2, eat a good healthy diets with powerful foods. 3, good exercise. 4. Keep mind living in this day only.....(struggling with it). 5, keep ontop of finances. 6. Enjoy what's on offer.
Maybe can add a new thread???
Hi Troxly, the diagnosis is gutting. I was diagnosed with Gleason 5+4 =9 with bone mets in March 22 just before my 50th birthday. I am now 3.5 months into HT with 5 out of 6 chemo sessions done. Coping mentally is more difficult than the physical issues at the moment. Happy to discuss the treatment or just to chat if you need.
Hi Troxly, 74 but closer to 75, we have 2children youngest is 31 and 2 grand children.
So just my wife and I at home, my son got devorced he moved to the USA his ex and our grand children live down beside Grimsby, our daughter and spouse come most Friday's, heart of gold.
After the oncologist said it was unlikely that I die any time soon, I shoved cancer to the back of my mind and get on living, I've been retired 7 years and its great to be able to do what we want when we want.

Hi Andrey103, I'm a wee bit older than Troxly and you, and 18 months since diagnosis Gleason 5+4 bone and lymph mets, was put straight onto HT tablets and injections, followed by RT, PSA down to.55ng, and coping with the side effects ok, and enjoying life.

Hi ulls which HT tablets and which hormone injections?
Glad you're doing ok
I got mortgage and plenty left to pay on it??? Not able retire? Lots of reality with finances....not sure want spend life on hampster wheel for work n finances.
I hear what your saying regards getting on with life.
Hi Throxly, I'm on 4 Enzalutamide daily, and Decapeptyl injection every 24 weeks.
I also take finastride and tamsulosin which keep the prostate from growing. My wife and I decided not to become parents straight away, she managed a branch of a national supermarket, and I was company secretary for a finance company, I don't intend to name either, we paid our mortgage of within 10 years, and still live here, it's convenient and we have a large circle of friends and family around us.
But I can fully understand your position, Macmillan have a welfare section it might be worth talking to them to help plan the way forward.
Bring on the 2050s, all the best Ulls
