I have neen on hormone therapy for 18 months and my skin is getting much thinner, less elastic and generally much older looking.

Has anyone else experienced this - and are there any supplements or ointments that could help please

Have the hot flushes stopped, if I may ask please? Best of health to you.

Hi...the hot flushes were a problem at first, but I have reduced them by eating Soya yoghurt in the morning (Alpro) and taking a daily supplement of Evening Primrose Oil

Glad to hear. Thanks a lot. I have you and everyone here in my prayers Pray

  • Hot flushes were debilitating occuring every few minutes. Tried a 10 week course of accupuncture at our local hospital holistic unit it but no joy. Tried evening primrose oil and sage with no succes. Oncologist then prescribed Cyproterone 50mg and that has worked. No further hot flushes, thankfully.

As for skin treatment I apply Cetraben moisturiser twice daily. Really good product I have found.

  • Hi . Please be aware that Cyproterone can affect your HbA1c blood sugar levels and can push you into type 2 diabetes. It's in the PIL but many GPs don't seem to be aware of it. If you are careful with the amount of sugar you take and try not to gain too much weight you should be OK.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

Thanks BoroG I'll give Cetraben a try

  • Hello Seamus, thanks for the reply. Must admit I have always been very careful about sugar intake and although on Pro-stap monthly injections my weight has remained steady.

Thanks for the advice, will keep that in mind. Cheers, Graham.

  • My G. P. prescibes Cetraben now since my radiotherapy. Worth asking as it is over £12 in Boots.
