My partner was informed by the urologist he had advanced P.C ( entered lymph node’s & bone) put him on hormone treatment, the prescription is for 3years injection every 3 months. He has a PSA 134.8 … next appointment is 4th April with the oncology department, which I expect they will tell us more about where the cancer has spread!
I know all cases are different & treatment can be more successful in one person to another.
Everyone deals with the situation differently…my partner at the moment is a bit of an ostrich (always has been) me I need to know what’s happening.
I support him all the way I have told him it’s his body but we are in this ‘shit’ together!
Hi Asheen
Just read your reply to Luluf, May I say never be frightened, there are many on here who have lived well past what might be predicted, I’m nearly up to six years and you should read my profile ‘ sheesh ‘ it’s good your going to ask questions, because once the oncologist has said his/her bit, they look at you, this is where you get your top penny worth in.
Your husband might not like it, but it is for his good, my wife goes at them always wanting a plan B, not to mention anything else on her mind. So be positive for the two of you, it helps more than I can say.
stay safe
Joe
Thank you Asheen and I really hope you both have a positive appt on 4th. I agree you don't always take everything in at the time. Our hospital has a cancer care centre where you can drop in and chat or email/call them with questions. I wonder if yours might have something similar? Talking/messaging others who are in a similar situation has helped me and it's been good to read some positive stories and experiences.

I’ve just read your profile that came into my in box…Bloody hell… your having it rough!
These letters & figures you quoted (I have read about) we were told nothing of Gary’s condition apart from being prescribed a 3 month hormone injection for 3years by the urologist. I am sure the oncologist will fill in the missing pieces!?
Take care & fingers crossed with your treatment!!!!
Asheen
To be honest I think I've had it easy because everything was started so quick I didn't have time to worry about treatment or results. The only thing I would have liked was a face to face with the oncologist.
Coming on here really helped and as people have said there are new treatments coming online all the time.
Keith
