I've now been on Relugolix  hormone  tablets and tamsulosin,  peeing in the night as diff improved , and so as my flow I've been on tamsulosin  for about 5 weeks now, and Relugolix  for 13 days, the side effects have been just hot flushes not bad but  they have ease off a bit, or maybe it was the hot weather, however over the week, now  I ve been going out for walk twice a day in total iam doing about 5k, I m not sure if that as help me or not, considering what I been reading  it's normally after 2 weeks side effects really kick in,so I might be barking up the wrong tree at mo.but least walking might prepare a bit

  • Hi Cfc

Keep up that walking - it works! I am on Triplet therapy (Double HT + Chemo) and even when I have felt really not like it at all I make myself get out and have a walk. The benefits are definitely there, and the more you do the better you will feel. I would say that the effects do take a little while to kick in, and the more you do before they do.....

The hot flushes seem to hit me a little while after a meal, but not for long.  Night time ones just come on when the do - and the duvet just gets pushed off!  I have a small USB charged handheld fan by the bed for when I get too uncomfortable.

    All the best

  • Hello

The side effects of Hormone Therapy vary from person to person, indeed some people get very few side effects, some people get all of them (me) and in my case some took over 6 months to show up.

Everyone appears to get fatigue and "brain fog" and the best way to get on top of these is exercise, be it walking, cycling or regular gym visits.

We all deal with the side effects in different ways, at first when I started with the fatigue every time I felt like a "nanna nap" during the day i took the dog for a walk.

I had bad hot flushes - so bad we were changing the bed sheets every morning - I started taking Sage Tablets (Menoforce) and the hot flushes stopped within a week and I am still taking the Sage. No more hot flushes, but they don't work for everyone.

If you enjoy walking there's a thread on the General Cancer Chat Group you might enjoy, here's the link:

Carry on - you are doing the right thing.
