So I’m currently on zoladex and tamsulosin the side effects for both of these among many are lethargy, why is it then when I go to bed I just lie there without feeling sleepy in any way shape or form, seems a bit of an oxymoron to me.
any body else dream of those halcyon days of a good night’s sleep
Hello belgium,
Yes, I have the same problem. I'm on triplet therapy involving Prostap and Darolutamide which produce their fair share of fatigue.
I used to sleep at least 8 hours a night and now average 3 to 4 hours. I lay in bed for hours listening to music or GB News on headphones whilst my wife slumbers on for England. The strange thing is that, even as I hurtle towards my 70th birthday, I don't even fall asleep in the armchair in the evening.
At least I'm well versed on current affairs!
If you're able to browse this site without waking your OH (if you have one) there's a very interesting group on the Cancer chat forum called Awake And Up All Night for chat through the hours of darkness. It's full of interesting characters.

I will have you know I post on this thread:
It's great to know I am
It's full of interesting characters.
That's made my morning. OK so we chat about everything, cats dogs and the last conversation I had was about pizza!! .
On the subject of sleeping I don't "nap" during the day but don't take any rocking at night - asleep after a few seconds. Up twice a night for the toilet but again back to sleep in seconds - My normal night is a good 8 hours,
Kind regards - Brian.

Hi belgium
I only seem to get the non-sleepy phase at first stages of chemotherapy (also on Triplet). I have previously mentioned the Headspace app which does have courses around not sleeping well and relaxation.
I also listen to Radio 3 Unwind on my Snoozeband (look them up, great for listening and falling asleep)
I find that it is about listening to something I do not have to concentrate on, so nothing involving talking/conversations. I also try and avoid stuff on Spotify as it listening to "relaxation" stuff really messes with my algorithm!
A good book sorts me out usually - but that is a decades long habit...
Great to hear that you are very active!
Hope you get sorted
All the best
KrisPy
