Hi, can anyone give me advice on how you feel in the first month of taking prostap?  My husband has his first injection next Monday, and at the start of June we are hoping to drive to Devon/Cornwall to visit friends. It’s a three to four hour drive, but we can stop and take breaks. Having read the NHS guidelines on the side effects we are wondering if it might be too much. He’s particularly concerned about trouble sleeping while on the medication and whether he’s going to be too exhausted to drive and to enjoy himself over the weekend. Nothing strenuous is planned. I think the break away from home and a bit of sea air will be good for both of us, as well as seeing our friends.

I appreciate everyone is different but It would be good to hear real life experiences of how people felt.

many thanks.

  • The side effects are not immediate they build up over time as testosterone is supressed. The side effects are not directly from the medication they are the result of suppressing testosterone and this takes a little time to happen.

You've got a few weeks before June so see how things go and make a final decision nearer the time. I would think he will be OK as he will only be 1-2 months post starting his therapy.

However, it affects everyone differently so monitor how things go and then make your final decision.
