I am getting pains in my toes - OK in the greater scheme of things it is trivial - mind some do hurt, it's not an ache, it's almost like an electric shock. Could this be Abiraterone?

The more I read this, the more foolish it appears... Slight smile

  • Hello

Well, I am not medically trained so here's our advice on Abiraterone:

    Treatments and drugs. Abiraterone.

I've read the side effects - yes it could be Abiraterone - mind you the side effects list pretty much cover every ache and pain you could get!

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • I am in remission after treatment for prostate cancer last April/May.  I had been getting burning sensations down my right leg along with pins and needles in hands with painful neck pains.

Discovered it was being caused by neck stenosis and lumber back area, This was diagnosed and offered surgery in October,  wasn't difficulted choice , I agreed to surgery if the the options would have been ending up been in wheelchair. So the surgery took place on May 5th, a big operation on 3 vertebrae's C5 and C7 AND C7 , In theatre for four and half hours and now facing a long recovery,  down the road they will operate on the lumber area.

In between these I had bowel cancer investigation,  thankfully no cancer found but damage from the radiotherapy I was treated with

  • I get the same pains , its like being stabbed with something sharp !!.

Doesn't happen a lot but bloody painful when it does .

    Yes i'm on abiraterone too

  • Indeed, I say almost like electric shocks, the number of people who say that is gout, similarly, the number of people, when I get the sweats say “yes it is warm in here”

  • no swelling or soreness so its not gout !! .

Hormone treatment has a massive range of side effects , after 7 years of them they begin to wear you down .

But i'm still fighting and have a reasonable quality of life .

  • I’ve been on Bicalutamide HT for 7 weeks and I’ve just started to get pins and needles in my legs and arms, particularly when I sit or lie in the last 2 weeks. I’ve got a meeting with my oncologist next week and I’ll raise it with him. It’s a bit suspicious however that I’ve only started to get them since starting the treatment.
