Hi there
Well as you may know my hubby was diagnosed at 57 with T3a prostate cancer in March/April time - Gleason 3+4 - the cancer had escaped the gland & was just starting to nudge against the capsule wall - nothing detected outside the capsule but there could be microscopic spread. He has been on HT for 6 months which finishes on 31 Oct & he has had EBRT 20 fractions. Oncology review was today - his PSA was down from 5.6 to 1.7 with 3 months of HT before the radiotherapy & then we are going to have another PSA test in April 26 - the oncologist is expecting this PSA to be undetectable at that point. Then its PSA tests every 6 months for 5 years - apparently it needs to keep under 2. Anyone else had similar - how did your PSA pan out after treatment ? Thanks
Hello Redrose25
I think hubby is a very lucky boy, having been caught early with a low PSA. he's had some cracking treatment and advice from the oncologist. I wish you both many more happy low PSA tests.
Thank you for returning and giving us a very positive update.
Best wishes - Brian.
