Hi all, I have just had my results from my 2nd blood test since HT/RT prostate treatment last year and my PSA is 0.02

which is a great relief and, if it holds, sign off in one year.

Feeling a bit emotional because it's been a tough journey for me but hoping it gives encouragement to those of you going through this.

best wishes and love to you all.

  • Hello

That's a fantastic result and you and your team have done well. Long may the low PSA results be recorded.

It is emotional this journey (I for one can cry at the drop of a hat) and thank you for taking the time to come back to us - we love a success story.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thank you Brian, this site helped me with advise and wisdom through some tough times and my team were/are amazing.

  • Wonderful news! Long may that good news continue.  Your news definitely helps and gives hope.

My LH has been on HT since last Oct ,had chemotherapy x6 until July.  Radiotherapy has been deferred until review in Jan. because his psa went from over 4000 to 0.5 in Sep this yr. I hope it contines to stay or even become lower.

I do feel a bit worried about him  not having an interim psa.

Thank you for sharing your special news.

    All good wishes to all.

  • Hello Millibob

Thank you for sharing how you are readily moved to tears. I often  relay this to my LH as this is his experience of HT. He finds it frustrating. At leadt he knows he is not the only one!He has always been easily moved by beauty.. either music, nature, people etc, HT has increased this.

Strangely all of the side effects, hot flashes/chills seem worse 1 wk before Prostap due and for 1 wk after inj. Then some begin to improve.

I wonder if this happens to you or others?

He cant drink sage tea as previously recommended because he is taking blood thinners for a popliteal dvt.

Again thank you for sharing, it is so helpful and supportive.

    All good wishes

  • Hello

Yes, I am back on Hormone Therapy and this is my 4th year. I do get very emotional especially at family events, weddings etc but I can burst into tears at anything, we adopted a new rescue dog a couple of weeks ago and I cried my eyes out at the rescue centre.

As for the hot flushes - I use Menoforce Tablets you can get them from Amazon or Holland and Barrett - a tad expensive for Sage Tablets but they work for me. You could check with LH's team to see if he could have these.

LH's PSA is a cracking result and he should be pleased that the HT and Chemotherapy has done just what it should do.

    Best wishes - Brian.
