I had a transurethral resection of my uninvited guest a week ago. Over this week, peeing has become very frequent, very urgent and very uncomfortable. Flow and quantity are now both poor.
i was discharged from hospital only after I had had three pees, post removal of the catheter. A bit of discomfort but otherwise fine.
Is it safe to assume that this is post op swelling and that it will settle down? Or should I be getting back in touch with the wonderful urology team? Any OTC remedies to help?
Really appreciate views from anyone with similar experience. Many thanks for the support.
Hello David (David04102572fdf0)
I still have my prostate however from my knowledge of others on the group it's usual to keep the catheter in place for 7-14 days post operation - are you saying you left the hospital with no catheter?
i think you should be contacting your urology team and if no one is available (I am aware it's Sunday today) you need to either call 111 or if it's becoming as you say very uncomfortable it's a visit to A & E.
I hope this helps - please do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes - Brian.
