What do I ask my consultant?

Firstly, I apologise for asking something that must have been asked many times.  And secondly, I'm asking it 4 hours before a meeting I'm dreading.

I had a biopsy 3 weeks ago and today I expect to discuss the findings.

My question is simply - what do I ask the consultant today?  I woke up with ideas about life expectancy, but fully awake that seems silly.  I want to use the time well, so I'm asking for advice please.

Thank you and have a great day.

  • KJ911 love this.  Second-guessing yourself for 7 weeks is ruddy tiring. Time for a brew I think.

    All the best.

  • Steve, you have totally hit the nail on the head!  Your treatment plan is absolutely what my gut says is right for me.

    All the best.

Just be aware, sometimes there can be pressure on for surgery, sometimes.

Actually one reason for suggesting it u don't normally get HT with surgery and I think u need to start on that asap to stop any further spread

  • Hi Chris ( ), hope you sleep well tonight.  The bone scan is pretty much a formality with those stats, but just done as a belt and braces investigation.  Hopefully a plan will be put together soon and you will be on your way.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • Steve,

Yes I didn't know until today that HT 'shrinks' the cancer and can make the RT more effective.

Surgery, even performed at Christies, seems daunting to me. I know there's no 'silver bullet' - sadly

    Cheers,

  • David, thank you. Today would have been way more stressful without the advice I've had in response to my post this morning.

    Sleep well (everybody).

  • I assure you, sleep does get easier, you will be like a damp dishcloth this evening. Sleep well and although it will still be there tomorrow, you are a little further down the road to beating this.

    Stay safe.
