Good Morning, one question I’m struggling with is my PSA level that someone might be able to shed some light on. Obviously had my biopsy done last week after lesion found on top of the prostate but from reading personal stories on here PSA levels can be quite high when diagnosed !
So PSA test 24/10/24 was at 3.6
PSA test 04/03/25 was at 3.3
PSA test on 8/5/25 was 3.4
So factoring in those levels if the biopsy comes back positive for PC, you’d have to be hopeful that’s it’s slow growing and I’ve got it relatively early ! That’s what I’m hoping ! Anyone with a similar experience to that. I’m turning 50 in 2 weeks so my PSA level was elevated for my age so that’s why I had the MRI and lesion found. Thanks ! Dave.
Good morning Dave HS, I was similar back in 2017 but I was only given one PSA score back in those days and it was 2.4 and my gp did the physical examination and felt a bump so decided to send me for a biopsy. My Gleason score was 6 after my scan I was classed as low grade stage 2. Good news for me after my worries and elected to have the surgery. A personal choice and I was 58 at the time . Sounds like you are similar and caught early so I wish you all the very best in your journey to recovery ️
It helped enormously Beefy24 ! I’m just putting all the jigsaw pieces together in my head and it’s looking very likely that I’ll get that PC news but to be honest the last few weeks brought about an acceptance that I’ll be able to deal with whatever is thrown at me once it’s not the dreaded stage 4 bit !!
Hi Dave HS waiting is always the worst bit, but you seem to be taking a very positive outlook. Not only does this help your mind but I do think positivity really helps your physical side as well. Life throws curved balls at us all the time and a PCa diagnosis really isn’t the deal that it was a few decades ago. Keep looking forward.
Best wishes, David
Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.
Thanks David ! It’s funny I remember when I got the phonecall about the MRI results and they said they needed to do biopsy at it was between PiRad 4&5 , from that moment something kicked in and thankfully have been processing things well over the past 8 weeks ! Long May it continue but I’d be lost without the knowledge and positivity of this safe place ! Onwards & upwards ! Oh have a friend who was on deaths door 3 years ago when they discovered that her melanoma had gone internal and found cancer in 6 parts of her body and told it was terminal and yet last May she was given the News cancer free so you’d have to have a positive attitude when you see real stories like that !!
Hi Dave
I was 4.8 in January this year , MRI showed 2 lesions one was a Pyrad 3 and one was a 4 , the 3 turned out to be benign but the 4 was cancer 3+4 ,
your PSA is lowish so fingers crossed for lower on the GS that’s if you even have cancer , fingers crossed for begin result
I’m sat in hospital room after surgery to remove prostate yesterday and have been told it went very well so fingers crossed
