I'm early on in my journey having been diagnosed in July with intermediate locally advanced PC Gleason 7 (4+3), T3b N0. I had my bone scan result this week (the waiting as many of you know is one of the worst parts of all this) and was delighted to read from the consultant that there is no evidence of any disease outside my prostate (in the bones, soft tissue or lymph nodes) and in his words this is highly reassuring. To say I'm delighted about this is a gross understatement. I've been so worried for the past two months and it's a huge relief.
So now looking forward I've just finished my month of bicalutamide and two weeks ago had the Zoladex implant (absolutely no issues when I had it. Just like going for an injection). That will take me to beginning of November when I expect external beam radiotherapy to start.
Overall I'm feeling much more positive. I know I will have ups and downs, some tougher than others, but at least I went and did something before it became less treatable. I want to shout that from the rooftops in the absence of any formal testing regime.
Wishing all of us the very best!
Phil
