Just a quick question is having an x-ray for my hip joint pain okay after radiotherapy, this is the original pain that ended up with me being diagnosed with PC, I am told by my GP I have from scans done during tests for PC that I have quite bad osteoarthritis in both hip joints. In the last week I have start to limp.
Good morning Safeways . From what I remember the radiation dose from X rays is a lot lower than that used during radiotherapy and neither remain in the body unless you have had Brachytherapy. The benefits of having an X ray would outweigh the slight increased risk of developing cancer that any radiation to the bones can cause. Don't forget none of us are medically trained so if you are worried then ask the experts and it is always a good idea to tell the radiographers of previous treatment to the area so that they can assess the overall risk.
