Gleason 4+4 and been on enzalutamide for 3.5 years and had palliative radiotherapy, the last month I have been getting a dull ache in my lower back just above my bum, I have been ok during treatment but starting to worry that this is a sign the cancer has spread, my PSA has been undetectable for 3 years.
Hello Ronney . Any new aches and pains should be checked out with your team. The first indication that the cancer is finding its way round the hormone therapy is with a rise in PSA but you are not seeing this if you have had an undetectable level for 3 years and long may it continue. It is possible to have a recurrence without the PSA increase in rare cases so it is better to be safe than sorry. There are many reasons for backache which are not cancer related such as a urine infection, arthritis, muscle strain but only getting it checked out will put your mind at rest.
Let us know how you get on.
Thankyou for you reply I am ringing the cancer team today to try and get some answers
