Hi Steve,

Good luck with your last RT treatment and don't forget to give that bell some welly! Tomorrow is a new start and the first day of the rest of your life.

  • It has been a bit of a marathon for you  so well done for getting to the end of it. Have a well deserved rest for a few days and enjoy your 'freedom'. I hope that the fatigue soon becomes less of an issue so that you can enjoy your curative journey and that the back pain is sorted.

I will be listening for that bell in Greece so give it some Welly.

  • Great News Steve ( -Radiotherapy done and I hope all the little bast*rds in your prostate are well and truly zapped (dead!!).

Tomorrow will be the start of the rest of your life and you will find it strange - no daily trip, no chatting in the waiting room. no sunbed - however you can now get on with your life again!!

I found it strange, no appointments etc - it was almost like I had been left in a wilderness.

Thanks for your continuing support for the Community whilst still undertaking your radiotherapy.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thank you for this  .

As I have described on another discussion I made in the car on the way back from the hospital (I wasn't driving) it is a strange feeling being finished.

As you say tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life, and I am going to treat it like that.

I did, as you say, give the bell some welly.

Thank you for thinking of me.

  • I gave the bill a good go. I don't know about Greece, but I'm pretty certain everybody in the radiotherapy department heard it..

My family surprised me by turning up en masse, and when I rang the bill my wife burst into tears.

Surprisingly, so did two other ladies awaiting their treatment.

It was an emotional moment, and I think I must have looked like a fish out of water.

Thank you for caring for all of us.

  • Thank you  .

I am hoping that all the little bast*rds are well and truly croaked.

It gives me some comfort to know that there's two more years of hormone therapy to wrap up any that might have been missed.

It is a pleasure and an honour to try and serve this community as well as I can.

  • Congrats Steve on finishing your Radiotherapy.  It will feel like being in limbo as you are used to going for your Radiotherapy every day.

I like the quote 'Changed but not diminished '

  • Thank you Steve.

I do feel a little lost this morning, as you say "in limbo".

That will probably wear off in a few days.

My back is even a bit better.

The quote is something I remembered and seemed to fit exactly how I felt. I can't work out where I got it from though.

    Thank you.

  • Rest today and then start with a short walk tomorrow. There's nothing like a bit of exercise to combat the fatigue.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Hi Steve, it’s been really useful to read about your experiences and I wish you well for the future.
Tomorrow I have my planning scan in preparation for 20 cycles at QE Birmingham. It’s now been a couple of months since finishing chemo so once this is behind me I hope I can look forward to getting back to some kind of normality.

A big thank you to everyone on this forum who have shared and cared helping us navigate through this horrible disease.

    Chris.

  • Good Morning Chris (

Just a quick one to wish you well with the RT planning scan and I hope the 20 fractions on the sunbed go well.

I have just read through your journey and compared to what you have been through in the last 9 months the "Sunbed" will be a "walk in the park" for you.

    Best wishes - Brian.
