Hello Everyone

Thank you for all the support you have given to our Community over the past 12 months.  So we can keep the forum free for help and advice can we please try and use this thread for Christmas and New Year greetings and the "No Specific Topic" thread for general chit-chat.

On the matter of advice we give to Community members can we please not add either AI or Chat GPT generated advice to threads as we can't confirm these answers come from "trusted sources". Thanks.

On a personal note - that's me done with Hormone Therapy - 3 years completed so I assume I am technically "cancer free". I am on 6 monthly PSA tests for the next 5 years so I will be keeping an eye on things.

So Lorraine (Mrs Millibob) and I would like to wish everyone and their families on the Community a very Happy Christmas and our best wishes for 2025. We hope you all have a well deserved break and have a great holiday with family and friends.

During the Christmas and New year break there will be a normal service from me, however the Support Line will be on reduced hours.

Thanks again for your understanding and continued support.

we’re not long home from seeing the Oncologist and our daughter had a glass ready for him .

before he said anything OH said will it be a dram or a cola tonight

the Oncologist advised he’s very happy with OH bloods and asked how his RT went  once he was finished  so he told him to have a dram .

I said to him I felt we set off on the wrong foot . He apologised profusely that he told me to put my questions away .

asked how many lymph nodes involved so he advised us that there are two one next to the prostrate and one in inquinal lymph node but it’s very close to a main artery hence they won’t do anything . He did say if there is anything that comes up as a trial  he would get in touch

he said he would see us in three months and go onto 3 monthly bloods too .  A bit of an emotional rollercoaster today .
oh and he said go on holiday and enjoy .

i honestly don’t know how I would have got through these past months without all you good people supporting us with words of wisdom and at times laughter .

  • Hello Liz (

Well that looks to have gone better than anticipated and I think you have the answers you want and are at peace with the oncologist. Innocent

Three monthly bloods and a review sounds good to me and as soon as OH is feeling up to it I think the holiday is in order - you both deserve one. Sunglasses.

I will join your OH in a "small peaty dram" later on. As we are expecting a -9c tonight I might let Lorraine have one too (and the heating on!!) Tumbler glass.

    Best wishes - Brian xx

it’s been a long time coming to accept the Oncologists words but he was great today and humbled by what we felt about our last two consultations . Upwards & Onwards once OH can walk unaided . He’s desperate to get out walking .

  • Good news!

And it's good you know which nodes are affected, so I hope you can rest easier from that.

Plan and go that holiday !!
