Travel insurance for USA

Hello Brunyer - - Well come to our little club.

I see you are already a member of the Travel insurance forum for cancer patients forum.  Have you posted your question on there and had a look at the list of recommended travel insurance companies?

From personal experience I have found that a telephone call to the Company even before you fill out the online form works better, you speak to a human being and you know they understand your diagnosis, and you get the correct cover.

Another idea would be to join the Living with incurable cancer forum - patients only forum and see if anyone on there has any suggestions.

For a trip to Oz last year I found Insurancewith were very competitive. They were also the only company I could find, who wanted to know why I was on every drug I take, along with latest PSA, full details of my PC  etc. Very thorough.  The difference in the amounts I was quoted, was massive so do your research before committing.

Hi Brunyer, my husband is at the same stage as yourself. I contacted the above and they were extremely experienced and knowledgeable. It’s well worth a try. I really hope you will be able to get the travel insurance.

We are still trying to find cruise cover for worldwide. We did a USA and Canada Cruise in 2022 before my husband was diagnosed and just wanted to say it was fantastic. I hope you can find cover so you can go. Let us know how you get on. Check out insurance with . Some companies will cover for cruises but will only cover for so many cruising days per year so just be careful on this and read the small print.

Hi all. Thanks for your suggestions. Yippee!  I’ve got a quote. A mere £24000!!!!!!  They explained the reason for the ridiculous quote was the USA and the fact my cancer has spread to my bones. I’ve accepted defeat and will restrict my holidays to Europe where, at least at the moment, I can get insurance

Sad to read insurance for you is so expensive, I have a quote for £3,000 for Europe that covers cruising so looks like we will have to go with it. I haven't even added myself on yet . 

Just renewed our annual worldwide (excluding USA/Canada/Cruising) and our property is in the Asian part of Turkey so we have to go worldwide. For me and Mrs Millibob (who has her own issues - not cancer but health issues  may I add!!) £760 which I thought was better than £1600 last year.
