Good luck on your last day on the sunbed and remember to give that bell some Welly!

  • News - I am out of the wilderness - I now have an appointment for my first 6 monthly check up on 18 August 2023.

    Something to look forward to.

It's now just over a week since my last visit to the "Sunbed" and I am feeling great - I feel as if a burden has been lifted from me and I have my life back - a strange thing to say.

Still frequent with the old No's 1 and 2 but there are signs of improvement. Overall - how can I put this - it's like 14 months of my life - appointments - diagnosis - treatments - appointments etc - have just gone and I am free.

I can't say it enough - thanks to everyone for their support - help, humour and downright sarcasm, you guys and girls have been an amazing help.

    Brian.

  • Hi Brian

I read my post again and thought it might sound a bit negative - it most certainly wasn't intended to be!

Yes indeed let's hope there are plenty more 6 monthly  appointments to come. And bring on the annual ones!

    Regards

    Stuart

  •    ... And now it's your day to ring that bell. Make sure your OH gives it a good doing as it's a closure on that stage of the treatment. Tomorrow is a new start.

    Good luck today.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Hi Seamus, I’m afraid you are a week early! Day 15 was yesterday, day off today, radiotherapy next Mon to Fri and then bell ringing!

  • No bell at my place. I don't think I would have rung it anyway. I bumped in to many people in the radiotherapy waiting rooms just having palliative RT, and I'm not sure that celebrating my treatment in front of them would have been appropriate.

  • No body there when I had my last session so not worth ringing the bell - don't know why I was the oly one there that morning - seems odd when you think of it.
