This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic. It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.
It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.
I could have named it 'Waffle'. Then I couldn't go off topic.
Good Morning Steve
Today is day 11 out of 20 and I am due on the sunbed at 4.25pm. Yes it's starting to make me feel tired - I don't jump out of bed at 5.30 -6.00am anymore!! It's also interfered with my "flow". After my TURP in early November my flow had become very strong - now - well let's say it's not and I am more of a regular!!
Day 20 is Thursday 2 February and to be honest I am looking forward to it I will miss the people in the waiting room and the staff who are all brilliant - I won't miss the enemas or the travelling - even thought it's only a mile to Christies.
Ringing the bell - yes I will - for everyone else.
Have a great weekend all - Best wishes - Cheers Steve (even though it's dry January!!).
Brian.

Do you have your enemas at the hospital? I did, only being about 15 minutes away. Took a load off my mind, if you know what I mean.
My very first one was a dud! No shit! Exactly!!
So you are 1/2 way then. You will miss it, I know I did.

Good Afternoon Steve
No - I tend to have it at home - then I know it's done, I prefer my wooden seat and some decent reading material!! I just breeze in on the chauffeur driven Volvo (bus to you) check in, tell them what time I administered the enema and bob's your uncle - I don't have to wait long.
I agree I do get on with all the staff and although my sunbed times have all been different I enjoy meeting people on the same journey as me - It's like being on here - I find it therapeutic. I am looking forward to the weekend though!!

Thank you for telling us your experiences. My husband is due to start art shortly and I’m terrified for him.
Hi WW. Yes I know where you are both coming from. I did the planning scan no issues, then there was a 3 week gap and my mind kept wandering - what's it like - how will it be etc.
I am at Oldham, the first day there they were great, explained everything to me, enema's now a piece of cake, have a wee just before you are called in, lie down on the sun bed, they put you into the correct position, the scanner rotates 3 times, stay still and don't move. The music's good! Bob's Steve's uncle - see you tomorrow.
It's like a club - you end up talking to everyone in the waiting room - some have other cancers - most have PC at Oldham, you get to know the staff and it's almost a pleasure going.
As others have said once you have been - it's not bad at all - and yes I think I will miss it after I have been done!!
Ask away if you want to know anything - happy to help and I hope it goes well for your other half.
Right let me get back off topic.................
Best wishes - Brian.

Worriedwife RT is daunting but really nothing to worry about. Have a look at my profile and scroll down to the last line. You'll find a link there to a thread I started nearly four years ago when I had my RT in February & March 2019.
For you and your husband it is the first (and only) time but the Radiology staff have been doing it for a long time. Don't forget to do exactly as they tell you (especially with drinking the water) and tell them about any problems you have however minor they seem. The biggest gripe amongst the Radiology staff is the men who are still sipping at their first cup of water when their treatment time arrives. It messes up the whole schedule for everyone. I took in my own 600ml bottle of water and added a Twinings Cold Infuse bag to make it more palatable. Have a pee and then down the hatch with the water in one go is the best way!
I hope that helps.
Wow Seamus - I wonder if things have changed. I am on RT now and at Oldham it's empty bowl and empty bladder before RT.
Cheers - Brian.

Millibob Hi Brian. Yes, I think there have been a lot of changes in the last four years. Enemas were never mentioned at my treatment centre but a full bladder was mandatory! There also Space-Oar available now at some centres which is supposed to help a lot.
Of course I still have my three gold seeds which may or may not be collected when they incinerate the rest of me, but not for a few years yet I hope!
