This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Here's a couple of things that might fit this discussion.

    1. Why the heck do I have a hot flush at or about 08:00 every morning. Every. Single. Morning. Usually the worst one of the day.

    Does anyone else have this?

    2. I saw this on a site called "Stickman Communications" and Haven't been able to get this out of my head. I have purchased the poster so I think this is ok. The motto says this:

"Can't exists........but I am too busy with can to worry about it".

I can't help but think this could be the motto of this group.

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone.

  • Steve, I don't know if I'm the only one, but I didn't understand

"Can't exists........but I am too busy with can to worry about it".

    Is it just me?

    Enjoy your weekend as well!

I hope I can keep away from knocking on the people's doors!!!

  • I understand it like this.

There exists things we can't do.

But there are many things we CAN do.

So we do those, and don't worry about the can't.

People who knock on my door get a sigh and a piece of interesting fruit - maybe a fig or a date this year.

It's not that I am against Hallowe'en - not a problem in my book.

I don't even mind the knocking door to door, if it were done in the way suggested by the Celtic legends and practice around Samhain, where most of the ideas come from.

However, kill-joy that I am, "Trick or Treat" gets right on my ---- for some reason I can really put my finger on.

    Sorry.

  • I'm even more in the dark now...

Must be me!   Or the Gin!

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • It could be the Gin.

My money is on the Gin.

  • So is mine but... I do find it hard to understand things these days.

I've been digitising my diaries I've been keeping since I was diagnosed over 4 years ago.   Been looking at things from a different perspective.

The gin haze doesn't help though .  I do like a nice G&T now and again, especially at the weekend.

I've never thought of giving trick or treaters a piece of fruit.  I can imagine their faces!  It's all this copying from America...

  • My hot flushes are usually around 3 in the morning. Wake up roasting and having to throw the duvet off despite the window being open.

No such thing as can't - well that is what my mum used to say!!! Love the motto.

  • Can or can't put your finger on??? Laughing

  • Hi Gina, hope everything is going smoothly for you.  It's a big day for me today, I'm meeting up with my younger brother for the first time!  61 years old and have a new 55 year old younger brother!  Tracey located him on 'Ancestry'.

Talk about nervous!!!  I wonder if he is as nervous as I am.  In a good way of course!  I'll be able to fill him in properly with Prostate Cancer and all the wonderful things that go with it.

We're meeting up in Ashby de la Zouch, of all places.

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Wow Steve, that's amazing. Did you even know you has a brother before Tracy started looking. I know you're not confident with people face to face sometimes but what an incredible opportunity.  Hope all goes well and let us know how it went.

I'm ok. R has finallybeen moved to Oakham rehab, and is already starting to improve his mobility.  I am hoping for another 2 weeks respite before he comes home.
