Hi all,
An advert here for anyone interested in joining the Prostate Cancer Support Group at Maggie's in Newcastle. We meet once a month (on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 12:30pm).
It's good to speak to others all with the same thing in common. All at different levels of treatment, so I find it really interesting.
It can give you a boost just when you need it.

Hi Debby,
I finally had a meeting with the managers. I was expecting fireworks as I had sent them an email asking for the meeting (no HR on my request). They were full of apologies for causing me high anxiety levels and stress and depression.
Allegedly I am too important to lose from the business (their words, not me blowing my own trumpet). My mind had been working overtime, thinking the worst.
Either my Acupuncture has started working or I am running out of hormones. My Hot Flushes are now just nice and warm, the intensity has gone (touchwood).
Sorry I have been a bit quiet lately, my mind wasn't in a good place. Hopefully now ...
Enough about me, hope everything is well with you and John. Nice seeing John again last week at Maggie's.

Excellent news Steve. I am relieved and well done that 'they' have come to their senses. Thanks for updating us. I will let John know.
John has found the acupuncture helpful and echo's your words - slightly less flashes with lower intensity (I did suggest, being devil's advocate, maybe this is because it is generally colder!!!!)
I am pleased that John is looking into more 'alternative' therapies as I do believe it is helping with his stress levels and anger issues (even if there is a placebo element). He is learning to laugh a lot more!
Keep positive and glad you feel generally in a better place. D
Debby,
I still have a way to go but at least this is one thing off my mind.
Thanks for caring! It means a lot.
John always seems in good spirits at Maggie's.
I know one thing, it's easy to get down in the dumps, but to scramble out and get back up is a lot harder.
After my last Acupuncture tomorrow I think I will take them up on the offer of more counselling.
Things should be getting back to normal (whatever normal is) soon.
Thanks again Debby

Hi and good morning everyone, Steve please to hear, your employer is listen to you at last, long may it continue really good news. Debby John was in good spirits at Maggie's, we talked about how the acupuncture was helping both of us, I asked for a session of Reiki it's supposed to relax you mind and body don't have a start date yet but will let you know. Yesterday I had a MDT meeting from now on all treatment to be done at the Royal Hospital, initially told PSA was excellent at 0.0075 so supplied with 12 week's table's, blood pressure still to high they will inform GP to increase strength of tablets and also put me on medication to stop bone thining, told not to fall over as this will cause my bone to break, we had been back home about 90 minutes go phone call from pharmacist blood results show PSA now 0.155 doubled in 4 weeks change appointment to 6 weeks to redo bloods, not good. 2 GP appointments today 1 am and 1 pm I wonder what pleasures are arising from these.
Morning Ulls, Trust you !!
The PSA is a trend thing so don't think too much into this yet mate (easier said than done I am sure).
It is still a very low result. It also could be wrong.
Keep us informed Ulls - we are here. We all share this 'problem' and are in it together.
Yes, John appears fine, but he has been suffering headaches and these are worrying him. I say it's probably stress as he is your typical duck / swan (calm above but frantically paddling below!).
All thoughts for you today and your partner and up- date us when or if you feel you want.
Keep positive. Dx
The world is going to Potts. I know 0.155 is still pretty good for your PSA, but if it's right that it has doubled, a bit of a worry.
The bit about being told not to fall over... what do they think you do, throw yourself to the floor on purpose?
That'll be what the falls clinic tell me when I eventually get my appointment.
In the future everyone will know where you are by the 'rattling noise '
We could form a musical group "the rattlers".
Steve (SteveCam)
Debby, Ulls,
I could be a typical duck. A bit quackers at times (I thought nobody would laugh).
I think that duck description is great.
Ulls, about the Rekki, I have tried Raki before, gives you a hangover if you drink too much of it.
What is Rekki? I have heard the name but that's about it.

2 GP appointments today 1 am and 1 pm
Hey lucky you to have a 24 hour GP service!
Seriously though, my wife is a Reiki practitioner and she does it on me sometimes. It's absolutely wonderful. Go in with an open mind and relax. It doesn't work for everyone but it will do you no harm so give it a try.
