Hello all, you all sound so very supportive so I am hopefully seeking some positivity from you.
My dad is 74 and diagnosed on Tuesday. We are devastated. PSA is 6, Gleason Score 9. His consultant has been quick off the mark, and started his hormone tablets right away. Injection is booked for 15 Feb. 20 sessions of radiotherapy has been suggested and a bone scan is being arranged. Urology nurse says he thinks cancer is still local but I'm not sure why he knows that at this stage.
My dad is being very stoic and seems positive that finally he is going to get his symptoms eased with treatment. Me and my mum however, have gone to pieces thinking the worst. My mind keeps going to that deep dark place and I'm not eating or sleeping.
Can anyone offer some assurance or positivity if they've had the same 'scores'?
Thanks in advance
