Jim788 here diagnosed with prostate cancer September 2015 spread to my pelvic area 2018 joined this group around 8 months ago struggling with this new upgrade like to find old posts I cant seem to do it like to find my posts particular on ct scans.  last one I had was last January I got upset as my second palliative consultant stopped them with no real explanation just said my cancer was staple I wanted to know how he new that without a scan I have always had a very low PSA unfortunately he left and unto palliative consultant number three and last consultation was by phone to be honest better than nothing suppose I know because of the virus. Basically can I look at my old posts and how some posts I am looking at are 2years old

  • Hi

To look at your previous posts go to your profile and then choose 'activity'. All your previous posts should be listed there. Alternatively click here and you'll see everything you've posted.

  • . Hi it appears that activity is only showing the most recent activity, the search bar at the top seems to show more

  • Hi

Yes, you're right that the 'activity' in the profile only shows recent activity and that's one of the glitches that the 'tech team' are trying to sort out. However, the link I provided with will take him to all of his activity.

Another way of looking at someone's activity is to hover over their username and then click on 'Recent Activity' in the box that opens as that also brings up all activity.

  • Hi

I too was initially given a CT scan to determine the spread of my cancer but this stopped. I queried this with my consultant who said that regular PSA testing is now the norm and I have this done every 4 weeks. If your PSA level is stable, there is little point having C T scans.

Telephone consultations are not great and certainly no substitute for the real thing. I keep a note pad and write down all my questions so that I am prepared when he calls. If you forget to mention anything, ring the cancer nurse at your hospital as they are a great link between you and your consultant.

I hope this is of some help.

Thank you for your reply PSA IN MY VEIW  IS just AN INDICATER WHEN FIRST DIANOSED WITH PROSTRATE CANCER MY psa was only 4.5 even my first consultant said it was exceptionally low hence the need for scans unfortunately he left  my scans were continuing then suddenly stopped before I could get an answer why he had left and onto consultant number three then virus come in and phone consultations only. Have to be careful what to say next as I took the decision to see a cancer consultant privately(NO VIRUS THEIR) who agreed entirely with me AND HEY PRESTO JUST HAD ANOTHER SCAN AND i AWAIT THE RESULTS,

Hi  again just a word about my keyworker unfortunately had moved on nothing wrong with that and I got told someone would be in contact next day never happened. note this WAS PRE VIRUS.

  • Hello,

A shame all your consultants seem to move on and also your keyworker - not ideal at this time.  Do you have a Macmillan Nurse at the hospital you can speak to or is there a Maggies Centre near you where you can go and speak to someone?  It maybe that they can help you.  You can also contact the specialist Prostate Cancer Nurses at Prostate Cancer UK by telephone they are open normal office hours  Monday to Friday and a little later on Wednesday.  I used to have their card but have mislaid it so don't have the phone number to hand but you can find it on their website prostatecanceruk.  I only managed to get in touch with my keyworker once to send me a copy of a letter which my GP hadn't received and thereafter the telephone to her just rang and rang and rang.  She was a very busy lady.  The prostate cancer UK nurses were brilliant and answered all our questions and I don't remember having to wait too long to get a reply on the line - its an 0800 number so you don't have to pay but I have made a couple of donations as they were brilliant.  If I remember I will look up the number and post it later.
