  • Hi

Sorry to hear that your dad's PSA has recently risen. I can't help with your question around this, nor with what treatment he is likely to receive next, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list where it has more chance of being seen.

While your waiting to see if you get any replies you could use the search bar at the top of the page to look for previous posts on this topic. Another avenue to explore is to post your questions in the Ask a Nurse section of the community and one of the nurses will aim to respond within 2 working days.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your dad's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I assume the worse because nobody replied. Thanks for your time and help.

  • Hi ja32,

Just read your post but I can`t help you with any information on any "blips" while taking Zytiga. I am currently on Zytiga and have been for about 5 months. What I can tell you though, my specialist team told me I would be on them until they were satisfied that they had stopped working. They said I had other options for my treatment plan and not to worry if it (Zytiga) stops for me. I know drugs work differently for different people and there is not a one size fits all at the moment but please don`t be downhearted. This "blip" might be that, just a "blip". I think it might be helpful for your dad to ask his specialist team and/or consultant what this anomaly might be and what direction his treatment plan is heading. Please don`t be scared or put off from asking the questions.

I hope you and your father find out what`s happening with his treatment. Take care.

    Tom.
