hello all
ive posted before aboit my fathers journey.
in late July he was told that he will be getting lutetium (in Spain it is offered on the NHS). However, it m starting to not be too sure sbout this. I am abroad so all the info I have is second hsbe from my mother.
since July, apoarently they call weekly (the hospital) to tell my father ‘they are preparing the medicine’. However, there is no confirmed appointments or blood tests happening. Today, my mother says she got a call where they said the medicine is being prepared for my father in a nuclear reactor. Thats it. No appointments or blood tests scheduled or anything.
im beginning to think it’s all made up to keep my father’s spirits up. Hes spending most of the time in bed, in incontinent, has febtanyl patch sbd morphine pill for when it gets too much. He needs crutches to walk and has falls where two people are needed to lift him up (he can’t get himself up).
fir these who have had lutetium, how many pre-appointments did you have? I can’t imagine they’ll just call one day and say ‘pop by for lutetium when you can’. His last blood test was in September. he did have a PSMA scan in august which was favourable for lutetium, but thats 2 months ago. Surely if they were going to do it there woukd be something happening?
his last treatment was cabacitaxel in early July as thst was stopped because it was doing nothing.
in June his PSA was 53 and in September it was 250.
Hello FionaTheCat8377e3
I saw your post pop up and I am aware we don't have a great number of Community members who have received this treatment.
Whilst you are awaiting replies I am aware UCL in London provide this treatment and here's a link to their patient information

I hope this answers some of your questions.
Best wishes - Brian.
