Update on rising PSA appointment.

Yesterdays appointment resulted in firstly being advised to get in touch with GP for strengthening and conditioning physiotherapy. We informed the Oncologists registrar that membership had come through for the Pure Gym Sir Chris Hoy initiative last week however she feels that shouldn’t be the next step, yet. Physio first and then see how that goes.

With regards to rising PSA we have been told not to worry, yes it’s rising but only slowly we were told. They don’t intend do to PSA tests other than 12 weekly as at present. It was also mentioned that unless it goes to the original number of 9.9 they don’t intend to change treatment. The Oncologist came into the meeting too as we questioned if would there be any further scans and were informed no. They know it’s in the bones was the reply.

Registrar said to remain on Daralutomide and Prostap and when they feel they need to step things up they would use chemo. We were told not to worry about the numbers.

So pleased about the physio to be arranged and decided to just accept what they have told us and not to worry about the numbers. Hopefully physio will see some improvement to my husbands fatigue, balance and hip pain (also mentioned). To try and enjoy each day as much as we are able and worry about what’s next when we reach the point where they start talking about introducing chemo.

The oncologists words were we don’t want to use all our ammunition now.

Thank you for your support.

  • Hello

Thank you very much for the update. It all sounds very positive and like you my team only use the PSA numbers to set a target for starting treatment and indeed mine have also said "there are more tools in the toolbox".

At least you now have a plan and you can get on with life again.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thank you.
I feel we have reached a point now where we just have to live life and try not to remain as positive as possible.
