Good evening folks. In relation to a couple of recent posts on here regarding the PureGym membership scheme for all of us who are unlucky enough to be entitled to it I have an update for you. After submitting my original application over a month ago and then having to apply for a second time due to no response I am now pleased to confirm that I have finally received my membership details. So I am now officially a member and free to use the gym as and when I wish to do so. A bit of persistence and a lot of patience has finally paid off! As keen as I am to get my first sesh under my belt I've still got to wait a couple of weeks just to be on the safe side as it's only a week since I had cycle 6 of my chemotherapy. Can't wait to get started with some gentle exercise though. I will mostly use the running machines at first at a fast walking pace and slowly build it up from there. I will post an update in a few weeks time after my first session to let you all know how I get on and how I found the gym experience.
Hello String
Thank you for the update and it's good to see the free gym membership scheme is still running (no pun intended!).
Please do keep us updated as to your progress and I wish you well with it.
Best wishes - Brian.

That’s great to hear String
Do take it steady at first !!! When I went for the first time I booked an intro session with the gym manager who kindly walked me through the place, what was where and which bits were which. I found this helpful although the machines are easy to use - just look for the yellow levers to adjust stuff!
Also have a look at the online content - this is accessed via the same App which you use for access..
If you are only a week post no6 then definitely give yourself a chance to over the chemo effects.
All the best.
Stay positive, be strong
