In April i went to the GP with a weak flow and frequent bathroom visits and after a summer of tests, scans and diagnosis I finally had my first ADT injection three weeks ago in preparation for radiotherapy. A couple of weeks ago I was called into hospital for a flow test and today I received a call from the Urologist to tell me the oncologist has recommended a TURP procedure before my RT begins. After the telephone discussion I agreed this seems like the best way forward. The alternative seemed to be a lot of catheterizations during and after the RT. As this operation is in preparation for my RT and they don't want unnecessary delays they are going to try expedite the TURP operation for October. I'm guessing i'm not the first to have a TURP. Does this seem to best option in this circumstance - my flow is pretty weak and a lot of nighttime visits - and is it a fairly routine procedure?
