Some good news today, which I thought I would share, as good news from any of the forum members gives me a lift, and I hope it does for other members, too.
My last blood test, on 24/09/2026 was again <0.01, or undetectable (you were right Alpine Wanderer ).
The full sequence of tests since I finished radiotherapy has been like this:
04/04/2025 = 0.05
04/09/2025 = <0.01
20/03/2026 = <0.01
24/09/2026 = <0.01
My treatment has been 6 months hormone therapy, 37 fractions of EBRT totalling 74Gy, to be followed by hormone therapy out to 3 years from diagnosis.
On 11/04/2024 the PSA level was 7.19. My grading at diagnosis was T3b N1 M0. The node concerned was directly adjacent to the prostate.
I am being treated with "curative intent", and it looks to me that I am currently on the right pathway.
The hormone therapy has given me the usual side effects. We both find the magnifying glass my wife keeps at her bedside hilarious.
I'm an not going to complain though - mainly because no one listens.
It does seem to me that Zoladex (goserelin) is doing the job. Would I be wrong to think that different formulations hit different spots?
All in all I hope this encourages others the way it has encouraged me.
