Psa now down to 0.02 which is excellent....I am going to assume again eventually, may that be a long time, that I will become castrate resistant? The game plan for me that works is keep occupied and don't think about it. I
hope everybody...treatment wise is faring well.
As far as my reading has taken me, not all men become castrate resistant.
Although the comparison is a bit flawed, I have begun to think of the process like dealing with wildfires - much in the news at the moment.
First, you bring the fire under control. Stop it spreading.
Second, you put it out where it is.
Third, you hang around, possibly for a long time, looking for hotspots.
In PC terms this is lifelong, even if you get signed off.
My reading suggests that you keep on with the HT even if you are becoming castrate resistant. One article I read suggested that not all the cancer cells become resistant and, indeed, it may be only some sites. There are all sorts of things that can be done, many only coming online now.
So, I am going to try not to worry about it, and let the firemen cope with the wildfire, which, in my stage, involves my firemen wandering around looking at things with some suspicion.

Changed, but not diminished.
I’ve just started my metastatic journey and I’m hoping my initial cocktail of meds will not become resistant for a decade, then I’ll have another cocktail and the clock resets, then something in the research and development pipeline allows me to pass away of something else other than this horrible disease. You have to think like that. Best wishes
