Skin rash after radiotherapy

Hi Towersaf0ffd I doubt that the rash is connected to RT.  Most of the side effects are localised to where the beams hit.  Sounds more like a heat rash to me and sweating is making it worse. Maybe a trip to the local pharmacy.

I use to get Prickly Heat in hotter climates (knees,armpits elbows) very nasty rash. I used calamine lotion to good effect.

Think you're right. It's calmed down today. The hair loss is a bit weird though  

Hormone therapy will cause hair loss. I found some areas of my body became prone to irritation following hair loss after radiotherapy/hormone therapy.

As the radiotherapy is delivered by a rotating beam it doesn't normally deliver enough in one position to cause irritation.

Indeed - the HT does cause hair loss from the body. My armpits look like they have been waxed!!  Chest hair virtually all gone and losing from around the body generally (but not my hairy arms! I did shave the backs of my hands before chemo which helped when having cannulas especially the bit when they pull the adhesive tape off!!)

I am probably heading for RT in the Autumn following chemo earlier in the year.  

I have stayed away from swimming pools/jacuzzis since chemo as there is the possibility of skin irritation from the chlorine following the chemo...
