I had to have a catheter fitted shortly before I was diagnosed, obviously due to my urinary issues. My oncologist is arranging for me to go into hospital for the day in a couple of weeks with the aim of it being removed permanently. Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience of this scenario and how it went.
Not gonna lie, desperately hoping it will work cos it's doing my nut in !!!!

I had an indwelling catheter for 10 months - I then had a TURP Operation to "shave" the bottom of my prostate. Catheter removed the day after (pain free). I was able to leave hospital once I had passed 750ml of urine.
My issue was that after 10 months of "dribbling" into a catheter I had to learn how to hold my urine and how to wee again, but it all came back to me. It took some time after 10 months to build up a decent 3/4 hour "window" between toilet visits.
I thought the catheter was great - no need to visit the loo in the pub - I could have a wee in the lounge and at night connected up to my night bag I got 8 hours sleep every night.
