I'm scheduled to finish my Abiraterone treatment end October. At the start of treatment, I was told that there was no indication that the cancer had spread, although it couldn't at that stage be confirmed. At the end of the two year treatment phase, are any checks made to determine if spreading has occurred, or just the six monthly psa/blood tests relied upon? Thanks to anyone who could enlighten me. As far as I am aware (I have been wrong before!) there will be no additional scans etc - they will just rely on regular PSA tests - If you have had Radiotherapy the base line they will use will be your PSA test 18 months after your Radiotherapy and then would only take action if your PSA rose +2 whole points.
