Had my third blast of chemo today, 3 down 3 to go. Feeling ok at the moment and coped quiet well with the last 2 so hoping that vibe continues. Not getting complacent though as seen others on here say that It can get worse as your cycles progress.
Got my daughter coming to stay with me for a week on Wednesday so no time to feel sorry for myself. She will be keeping me busy and beating me at FIFA on the Xbox as per usual.
The worst side effects I've had since starting treatment wasn't from the chemo, it was actually the white cell booster injections that hit me hardest. Strangely I've been fine with the first 3 injections each time but the fourth was really knocking me for six.
So I flagged this up at my meeting with Claire my oncologist last Thursday, who is an absolute superstar and she has changed it from 4 jabs to 3. Hopefully this will solve the issue.
Well done String
I completed my six on 22 May and felt not too bad, but did notice that the “good” days were fewer - the rough period just kept extending. I have had my last steroid now as well after the ramping down process but this just seems to have increased the fatigue! So I wish you well going forward, just be aware that things may get a little more challenging.
all the best
