Just to update on my husbands progress, his scan results came back with a slight spread into the pelvic lymph nodes, which was not unexpected as T3b, Gleason 9, but the good news was that there were no other signs of any spread into other lymph nodes or bones, which is a relief. Oncologist will treat the area with EBRT in October, 37 fractions! We’re just glad that he had the scan, as his urologist said it wasn’t required, but even through standard bone scan was clear, oncologist said you can’t be too careful with Gleason 9 and best to have one.
PSA is now down to 1 after eight weeks of Prostap and flour weeks of Abiraterone , so good result , no side effects so far aside from ED which was expected.
the journey continues.
Hello Porthleven
It sounds like you have a proactive team and the treatment is working well. A PSA of 1 is brilliant after 8 weeks. Let's hope he gets away with only ED as a side effect.
Best wishes - Brian.
