psa rise

Hello golfboy from a fellow triplet therapy subject. I'm coming up to 2 years since my treatment started.

It's naturally worrying if PSA shows an increase, even one so small. When I was monitoring mine from first treatment of RT/HT in 2016 to confirmation of recurrence in early 2024 it sometimes went up on one test only to go down again at the next one. 

It's still very low and far from anything to worry about, so try to stay positive and wait for the next test which will hopefully see it go back down. One test does not make a trend.

hi all. i received a call today informing me my psa has risen from 0.01 to 0.12 and now 0.33, dr says he's looking at putting me on steroids and another round of chemotherapy.  has anyone else had more than one round of chemotherapy.  im not in to much pain and paracetamol manages than ok. I finished my last chemotherapy 13 months ago. thanks

Husband did Triplet Therapy and PSA reduced from 311 to 4.6. PSA started to rise within 3 months of stopping Docetaxel. In then started a course of cabazitaxel but sadly his PSA continued to rise so this chemo was stopped after 6 cycles.

So sorry to hear of the recurrence.  I just wanted to wish you all the best going forward- we are all so very different in the way we react and respond to the same drugs it must be frustrating for you.

I have only had one course of chemotherapy and am in the recovery phase (finished 3 months ago) so can empathise!!

I hope you get some responses from others with the experience you are looking for.

I'm really sorry to hear that, a very disappointing outcome for you.

Although I have had 2 different courses of chemo these were for 2 different cancers and several years apert so I can't offer any constructive advice.

I'm very sorry that the first chemo hasn't produced the right response and I do hope that further treatment does.
