Hi
I have my biopsy tomorrow and just wondered how you were after it? I realise there will be some pain but we're you still mobile?
It’s certainly an experience Wilbur but more due to the ungentlemanly legs-up position you are placed in rather than anything painful. Try to keep your mind off what’s happening ‘down there’. After the nurse chatting to me was called away I found myself counting the ceiling tiles…! I didn’t have any discomfort afterwards, before or after the local anaesthetic wore off. You will almost definitely have blood in your pee for some time afterwards though but that’s normal and nothing to worry about. Good luck, let us know how it went…!
Hello Wilbur

Hi Wilbur
I echo all of the comments made so far..
I also found the nurse chatting to me very helpful!!
At the end I was asked about what underpants I was wearing - the strangest question I have ever been asked in a clinical situation - but then reality dawned...they had filled me up with what seemed to be a couple of pints of lube to get the U/S probe in and it had to come back out again!!! They gave me a pair of disposable tightey-whiteys and a pad which I wore home under my other clothes, and no leakage thankfully.
No pain afterward - great surgeon! Little uncomfortable during the process occasionally but I had 21 cores taken and only a handful of times when it was uncomfortable. I thought the freezing spray at the start was the worst !!!
Hope everything goes well for you, try not to worry too much during the period before you get your results - it will seem like a long time but once you have results and a treatment pathway you can just get on with it.
Just take your time - it is an invasive procedure and your mind needs to get around that.
I walked back to the railway station afterward (1/4 mile) and got home ok...
Blood in pee was a little disconcerting for me, but only lasted a few days. I checked after about a week and there was also blood in semen but that went away also.
All the best
KrisPy
Personally, I found it to be a bit of a non-event. The most "painful" bit was getting all the sticky tape off my nether regions the next day ! I drove 20 miles home after the event with no problems. BUT.............as you will find during this saga - everyone is different !
Maybe it was just me.
All my life I had an average penis and larger than average testicles - an no, that's not a boast, just a fact/problem.
Immediately after the procedure I had "larger than that" testicles - no one knew why - hence the comment about emergency stops.

Changed, but not diminished.
As long as you have not had sedation/anesthetic, you will be fine to drive. You don't really feel anything during because of the local anesthetic, but even after, it is relatively non-painful (although you shouldn't ride a bike or a horse for a few days!). They make you wait in the hospital until you have urinated after the procedure, so you get some recovery time. The only thing that perhaps 'shocked' me was have very brown/red semen the first time afterwards!
