This week I had my first 3monthly post HIFU survey follow-up.
I am pleased to say that my PSA result has gone from 7.1 pre-Op to 2.1.
I am so happy and very grateful to Prof Hashim Ahmed and his team.
In the 3months since surgery I have thankfully had very little side effects.
I took on the March the Month taking on the 11,000 steps per day which I thought may be a step too far, but it all went well. The only effect I did have was after 12weeks I did a bit of gardening and then I started to have blood in my urine. This lasted 24hrs it was a clear wake up call that although my mind was telling me I was able to do anything I wanted my body told me that this wasn’t the case!
I’ve managed to also do a bit of paddle boarding on the Thames and I’m planning on getting back on the cycle from next week. I will be taking that gradual to get back to my old weekly mileage whilst listening to my body.
Hello Wayne (Wayne71 )
Thank you for your update. The treatment looks to have done the job and your PSA has dropped. I wish you well with further drops to come. I do agree with your statement
whilst listening to my body.
and that's something everyone should consider after any treatment.
Well done with the 11,000 steps.
Best wishes - Brian.
