Last RT session today 9 May, relief and pleased to get the final 37th treatment in the bag.  Blood test results last week showed PSA at 0.07, ongoing HT with Aberaterone / prednisalone and 3 monthly Goserelin jabs. Don’t see oncologist until August for review, but will enjoy the months ahead knowing I’m out of the thick of it for now and not constrained by daily trips for treatment.

  • Hello

Thank you for the update - everything looks good, I hope the visits to the toilet have reduced/reducing.

Strang as it my be, I "missed" my visits to radiotherapy after they finished, supporting others in the waiting room and meeting people with different cancers.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • And results just in from last week’s blood test (29/5), PSA 0.03 & other indicators ok too.  Dropped off some thank you chocs to team at hospital- nice to do this and good milestone to pass.

  • Hello

It's all going very well - thank you for the update.

Enjoy the summer and I wish you plenty more low PSA tests.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thanks Brian, it is good to look forward to the Summer - wishing you all the best too. I appreciate your support.

  • Great news!

    Long may it continue...

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • Similar initial journey in some ways to myself  although I had 20 fractions and no Aberaterone / Prednisalone. Your very low PSA now is a good indicator. My oncologist described mine (<0.1) as ‘'excellent news”.

After 18 months with it in my body I’m finding the side-effects of the Goserelin (Zoladex) implants are building up slowly, as is my weight! Mostly energy levels, short-duration sweats and a bit of brain fog. Only another 18 months to go…!

Thanks for your positive update. I will be following your progress.

  • Hi Amplitude

I can sympathise! Only been on Zoladex 8 months and definitely foggy, sweaty and weightier!!   I am increasing my exercise regime to try to combat low energy and increasing protein intake...

    regards
