Hi I was wondering how other people are finding this adt treatment

I myself feel as if I’m aging every day with joint pain at night

breathing difficulties and trouble walking and getting up from the couch

I know these are side effects and not cancer related that’s how I describe adt as brutal

I know that this treatment is really effective and saves lives

 but at a cost

  • Hi Jamess,

could I ask which medication you are on ?  I was put on Prostap for 2 years, for the first 15 months or so I had very little in the way of side effects. Then I was hit with all sorts of things - including severe shortness of breath. After discussing it with Oncology and Urology they agreed to me stopping the Prostap after 18 months. ("minimal risk"), I then had side effects caused by coming off the Prostap !! My last actual Prostap jab was Mid Sept, I didn't have the next one due in Dec.

All of Jan and a part of Feb, I was short of breath, getting heart palpitations and generally felt like death warmed up most of the time. BUT - for the last 3 weeks or so I have felt totally different. SoB has all but vanished, heart has settled down, feel much better in myself and am finally managing to shift some of the weight that Prostap put on me.

If my PSA starts to rise again (0.01 in Dec)...............I really don't know what I will do if they suggest Prostap again !!!!!!

  • Leuprolein abiraterone but I think the Leuprolein is causing all the trouble I been on it since July probably indefinitely
