Prostap (and similar) odd side effect

I have been suffering (not really "suffering" - it's just b****y annoying!) from a tingling sensation on one side of my head, my ear, lower jaw. Not there all the time, comes in "waves" lasting a few minutes, occurring randomly every 10 mins to an hour or more. The NICE website tells me that this type of effect is a "common/very common" side effect of Prostap (been on for 18 months) and related medications. I have never seen this mentioned on this site - has anyone else felt this ?

Many thanks,

M

    • Get tingling, cold, feeling in my hands immediately before a hot flush. Kind of a warning shot.
  •   I wonder how much the reactions are directly attributable to the drug or due to the actions of the drug on the body.

I received Prostap injections from September 2023 to October 2024 the latter being a twelve week version. Even now, in February 2026, I still experience hot flushes which I assume are due my testosterone level being very low (0.16 nmol/L) and live in hope that that level will increase.
The point of this comment is that I am aware of a noticeable inclination to fidget a few minutes before a hot flush which I consider to be just one of the unexplained side effects of the treatment. As I said above, it seems to be impossible to attribute such reactions directly to the drug or to the actions that it has had on our bodies.

Added to this is the important fact that we are all different!

  • Not had it, but will add it to my list of "strange things to look out for".

There are many strange and entertaining facets to the treatment for this disease.

Keep wandering through life muttering to yourself.

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • I think most of the side effects from this class of drug come from low testosterone rather than being directly linked to the drug itself.

I didn't experience this type of side effect when I was on Decapeptyl.

I also think that because these drugs can cause some significant lifestyle changes this is another factor that can be a factor in how you experience them.
