Abiraterone plus Olaparib Experiences

I was started on both

the extra fatigue was something else

i ended up having a break for a few months because of the fatigue and then started back on half the dose of Abiraterone and dropped the olaparib

it does work. My PSA is constant at less than 0.03

also the steroids you have to take will affect your blood sugar if you are diabetic

I’m guessing you have BRCA 2 mutated genes if you’re being guided to Olaparib.

I was started on abiraterone 3 years ago but then Olaparib was exchanged after 1.5 years.

I had no real tiredness or other side effect with either of them individually.

My personal experience with olaparib was that I didn’t have a fair trial on it because if the two were taken together I might have enjoyed a better result.

Why were they not prescribed together? That was because I was on an official Johnson trial and the olaparib was eventually found to be a placebo in the end. So my double blind trial was unkind to me. Such is life.

I would say that if you are fit now you will stay fit, and I’d be surprised if there are any side effects.

383 before Docetaxel which dropped it to 0.26 and then it started doubling which is why they started me on the tablets

still 0.03 even though I am only on 500mg Abiraterone
